Job Description
This position oversees daily kitchen operations, focusing on staff supervision, food quality, inventory management, and cleanliness. Key responsibilities include training kitchen staff, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, assisting with menu planning, and supporting the kitchen manager in day-to-day tasks and strategic goals.
Responsibilities
Staff Management: Supervise, train, and mentor kitchen staff on food preparation, cooking techniques, and safety practices. Help with scheduling and employee development.
Food and Quality Control: Ensure the consistency of food quality, presentation, and portion control. Assist in menu development and testing new dishes. Inventory and Ordering: Monitor inventory levels, assist with ordering supplies, and manage stock rotation to control costs. Ensure correct delivery of goods.
Cleanliness and Safety: Maintain high standards of cleanliness in the kitchen and enforce health and safety regulations. Ensure compliance with all local health codes.
Operations Support: Assist the kitchen manager with administrative duties, daily operations, and implementing kitchen policies and procedures. Collaborate with the frontof-house team to ensure smooth service.
